Netflix, the international TV and streaming service, has increased the prices of its top-end packages. Its two-screen viewing and HD package will increase from £7.49 per month to £7.99 while its £8.99 premium service will increase to £9.99. The basic £5.99 remains the same.
The company said that it will provide a 30-day notice, the timing of which depends on the customer’s billing cycle.
"From time to time, Netflix plans and pricing are adjusted as we add more exclusive TV shows and movies, introduce new product features and improve the overall Netflix experience to help members find something great to watch even faster," the company said. "The price change will roll out to members over the course of the next several months."
Customers can view and change their pricing in the account settings part of the app.
Based on one estimate, there are now 5.7million people in the UK subscribed to Netflix. Rival services, including NowTV and Amazon Prime, offer similar experiences as a lower cost.
