A man has transformed his Volkswagen Passat into the world’s fastest shed.

Kevin Nicks, a 51-year-old eccentric gardener and part-time mechanic, has definitely thought outside the box when he decided to transform his passé VW Passat by surrounding it in wood.

 

Powered by a V6 engine, Kevin calls his creation the world’s fastest shed, which runs at an impressive 88mph.

 

However, bosses at Driving and Vehicle Standards are not fans of the shed. It took four-and-a-half months and a pleading letter to Prime Minister David Cameron to get a U-turn.

 

Mr Nicks said: “When you pull up to lights it makes people smile because it just looks so wrong.”

 

He added that the car is frequently photographed and Kevin takes advantage of this. “What would be better? I can say ‘advertise on the side of the world’s fastest shed’.”
