CCTV cameras to be installed at Baron’s Haugh and Dalzell Estate to monitor antisocial behaviour.

Local conservative councillors Nathan Wilson and Meghan Gallacher have condoned antisocial behaviour and vandalism that have been reported at a popular Motherwell woodland.
In response to the growing number of incidents, CCTV cameras are set to be installed at Baron’s Haugh and Dalzell Estate. It is hoped that the move will put an end to incidents that include underage drinking, graffiti, bottles being smashed and damage to the bird hides at Baron’s Haugh.
Mr Wilson said: “I’ve received many reports over the summer regarding antisocial behaviour at Baron’s Haugh and this is obviously a matter of some concern. The police and the council have confirmed that cameras are expected to be put in place and I hope this will go some way towards reducing anti-social behaviour at this hugely popular local amenity.”
Ms Gallacher added: “It goes without saying that antisocial behaviour and vandalism is simply not acceptable. Many people in my own ward regularly make use of this impressive nature reserve and I am concerned to hear about the behaviour occurring during the summer months.
