Italian sex symbol Monica Bellucci has become a mother for the second time.

The 45-year-old actress, who already has a five-year-old daughter named Deva with fellow actor husband Vincent Cassel, had another girl on Friday evening.

Leonie was born in Rome, Italy.

People magazine have reported that both mother and daughter are said to be doing “marvellously”.

Bellucci has previously spoken about how she is glad to have waited before having children.

She said: "I wouldn't want to be 20 again for anything. I am much happier now than when I was younger. You have to discover who you are, who you are going to be, there are so many insecurities. Today, I know the things that I need, the things that I can live without.

"Deva arrived at a perfect moment for me. I have done so many things in my life, been to so many places, had some great times - but when she came I was ready to give her everything she needed. The most important thing with children is to give them time."

Bellucci married Cassel in 1999. She is famous for her roles in  'The Matrix Reloaded', 'Shoot 'em Up' and 'Malena'. Cassel starred in 'Eastern Promises', 'Derailed' and the two 'Mesrine' films. The couple starred together in the 1996 film 'L'Appartement' as well as  'Irréversible'.
