Money saving tips for each and every student out there
Start adopting a savings plan so you can spend your money on things that really matter.

Avoid the temptation of impulsive spending at the beginning of your student term. Here are some great tips to help you do save money for worthwhile reasons:
- Draw up your budget on the first week
It is easy to believe that you do not have to worry about money if you have a student loan and you might be itching to start spending some of that money. Remember that it is a loan that will have to be paid back. If you do not want it to weigh down on you for the rest of your life you will think hard before you spend a cent of it on things that have nothing to do with advancing your academic progress. Start budgeting and planning your savings early on if you want to remain in the “black”.
- Plan Your Meals
There are three things that students worry about besides tuition and that is books, accommodation and food. Food is the biggest expenditure because students have to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner and in most cases these are meals they have to figure out for themselves. You can increase your savings on food if you put it on your budget and had a grocery list.
- Hunt for bargains and student discounts
Students enjoy a great number of discounts and savings; you can actually ask for student discount if it’s not advertised. Always look for discounts – there are plenty of them to be found everywhere.
- Sell your books
As you move from one term and one course to the next, sell your textbooks. There are different places where you can sell your unwanted good, including your clothes and those bongo drums you bought when you were going through a musical phase. If you cannot find a buyer within your campus, there is always Amazon, eBay or craigslist.
