A new research conducted by Populus for the Agricultural Biotechnology Council, has found that the majority of millenials are open to the idea of using technology to revolutionise farming methods in the United Kingdom. Of those surveyed, 67per cent said they support the use of unmanned aerial vehicles to shore up crop security and improve yields. 65per cent said they are okay with the use of drones in livestock farming while 63per cent agrees to using drones in assessing, monitoring and spraying crops.
Meanwhile, an overwhelming 81per cent of respondents supports the use of self-driving tractors on farms.
The British public has historically been hesitant about the use of new technology in agriculture. For example, GM foods are currently not grown in the UK.
