The body of Mikaeel Kular, the three-year-old boy who “disappeared from his bed” in Edinburgh, was found on Friday about 20 miles away in Kirkcaldy, Fife.
His mother, 33-year-old Rosdeep Kular is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court in connection to his death. She was questioned about how long the little boy lay dead before being found. Police who were investigating her son’s disappearance on Friday night detained her and she was formally charged on Saturday.
According to reports, the body of Mikaeel was found in woodland behind a property in the town’s Dunvegan Avenue. It has emerged this was Ms Kular’s previous residence. A neighbour confirmed that Mikaeel and his twin sister were born there.
Ms Kular, a beauty therapist, had initially told police that she put her son to bed at around 9pm on Wednesday last week. She said that apparently, the boy did not feel well and had slept on his own that night. She added that she discovered her son missing when she went to get him up at around 7:15am the next morning.
However, as police started investigating the case, it emerged that Mikaeel did not go to his nursery school after Christmas holidays. He failed to return on January 07 apparently because he was suffering from a chest infection.
Ms Kular is now due in court.
