Michael Owen stopped a trespassing attempt at his home by catching the intruder via his home CCTV camera. Instead of freaking out, the footballer found the whole situation amusing.
So amused that he decided to share the whole thing with his Twitter followers. He said: ‘Great TV tonight. Been watching some fella on my cameras for an hour weighing up what to nick.’
The footballer didn’t stop sharing updates even after the police came in, saying: 'Police came round while he hid in my woods.
'They then went and 5 minutes later he runs back to his van and hides in the boot!’
He tweeted: ‘Watched it all laughing my head off as the police returned to drag him out.’
The 32-year-old Stoke City player also used Twitter to thank the police who arrested the intruder.
He also jokingly warned other people who might want to trespass his home that he shares with his wife and four children, saying he has enough security cameras so intruders should reconsider!
