A recent research by skobbler, developers of GPS Navigation 2, aimed to identify the most visited locations when people are on the road. It was confirmed that drivers usually look for coffee, petrol, accommodation, and food.
The study claims that the most searched term is “petrol station” followed by McDonald’s. The other fast food chains that made it to the list include KFC, Burger King, Nando’s, and Pizza Hut.
Marcus Thielking, co-founder of skobbler has said: “The results suggest that aside from fuel, food is the most important thing on our mind whilst on the road, with three out of the top four searches being food related. It seems that when we are on the road, we like to treat ourselves to a bit of self-indulgent fast food and McDonald’s continues to rein as the longstanding favourite!”
Aside from petrol station and fast food chains, coffee shops like Starbucks and Costa were also high up on the search list. Among supermarkets, Tesco emerged as the winner followed by Asda. Other searches were for train station, airport, shopping, hospital, and restaurant.
GPS Navigation 2, which is UK’s number 1 iPhone sat nav app, recently hit the 3 million download milestone.
