Matt Damon’s Elysium tops weekend US box office

Last weekend, four new films opened in the US box office but it was Matt Damon’s film Elysium that grabbed the #1 spot with £20.3million.

Matt Damon’s film Elysium took the number one spot at last weekend’s US box office making £20.3 million, it has been reported.

The sci-fi thriller, which was directed by Neill Blomkamp, beat Jennifer Aniston’s new comedy film, We’re the Millers, which came in second place.

Disney’s new animated movie Planes is at number three and Percy Jackson Sea of Monsters and 2 Guns complete the new top five.

Other films that Matt Damon has been in during his career include Good Will Hunting, Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve, Ocean’s Thirteen, The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum among other films.
