Matt Damon is expecting a baby girl.

The sexy actor, who has jetted to the Dominican Republic with his pregnant wife Luciana Barroso, to film new movie 'The Good Shepherd', reportedly told a local newspaper the happy news.

The heartthrob, whose wife - a former waitress who was born in Argentina told El Caribe newspaper: "It will be a girl."

The newspaper report also revealed now the actor had been taking Spanish lessons from his wife.

Damon's spokesperson says she can't confirm the smitten pair are expecting a girl, adding to America's MSNBC.com website: "I haven't spoken to him since he got married."

Matt and Luciana tied the knot in a simple, intimate ceremony in New York's City Hall last month, just a week after it was revealed his sexy fiancée was three months pregnant.

Matt had previously confessed he was desperate to become a father, saying: "I have longed for kids in real life.

"I just have to learn how to be a disciplinarian. I'm good at winding kids up, but I'm not so good at chilling them out."
