Mylo Kaye, the strategic director of an app development firm called Dreamr, has launched Pledge, Manchester’s first ever digital product designed to help charities and people living in poverty with the use of modern technology.
Kaye, who was once homeless, wishes to combine his personal experience and expertise in the tech industry to enable charities to innovate and create impact through digital transformation.
He said: “Charities are vital to helping the city’s poor and I can testify to this with the help that I received from a local charity when I was homeless a decade ago.”
Kaye added: “Pledge will support the great work that other charities are doing in Greater Manchester by providing our digital expertise around fundraising – including the new technology which enables contactless donations. I love technology and the power it has to change lives.”
According to recent figures, the number of people living in poverty in the country is continuously rising. The UK’s North West regions saw the most significant increase of rough sleeping, which is up by more than 39per cent compared in 2016.
