Majority of restaurants visited by Gordon Ramsey on Kitchen Nightmares have closed down
Despite the premise of his show being the recovery of troubled eateries, most of Ramsey's visits were ultimately futile.

After Gordon Ramsey called time on his Kitchen Nightmares TV show after a decade on the air, it's been revealed that most of the restaurants he visited went on to fail.
The show's premise is that Ramsey goes into troubled eateries and shakes up the management and kits out the building to make it function better, but new figures have shown the expletive-laden show wasn't a success in that area.
Of the 77 eateries that Ramsey visited during his time, 47 have closed down. That amounts to 62%.
Lela’s, in Pomona, California, closed before the episode it featured in even finished filming.
A spokesperson for Gordon Ramsay said: 'You don’t ask to take part in a show called Kitchen Nightmares if your restaurant business is booming and therefore it is not surprising that many of the restaurants which Gordon has visited over the ten years are now closed.
'Gordon and his team of industry experts always have the very best of intentions and passionately use their expertise and resources to help turn the restaurant around, often including a complete refurbishment of the site.
'With the huge exposure that comes with being on the TV show, all the tools are there for success but it’s up to the owners to translate this into long term business which sadly isn’t always possible.'
