L'Wren Scott, fashion designer and partner of Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, dead in apparent suicide

Fashion designer L'Wren Scott has been found dead in her New York apartment in an apparent suicide, it has been reported.
Police are treating the scene as a suicide although a medical examiner is yet to confirm a cause of death. Her body was discovered at 10:00 local time (14:00 GMT) on Monday.
A spokesman for the New York Police Department said in a statement: “At approximately 1005 hours police responded to 200 11th avenue, in the confines of the 10th Precinct.
“Upon arrival, officers discovered a 49-year-old female, unconscious and unresponsive. EMS also responded and pronounced the aided DOA at the scene. The investigation is ongoing and the medical examiner will determine the cause of death.”
Scott, 49, was partner to Mick Jagger since 2001.
Jagger and his band, The Rolling Stones, are currently on a mammoth live tour and were in Australia when the news struck. They were due to play the Perth Arena on Wednesday night.
A rep for the Brown Sugar and Start Me Up singer said that Jagger was "completely shocked and devastated".
The strikingly tall designer was raised by adoptive parents in the American state of Utah and began her career as a model in Paris before moving to Los Angeles where she honed her craft as a stylist and secured numerous big name clients.
She went on to design clothes for Hollywood's top names and acted as a consultant on films.
