It's been a rollercoaster couple of weeks for celebrity couples as they split up, got married, got engaged and lusted after each other.

To start with the bad news, Hollywood golden couple Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston have parted company after four and a half years of marriage.

The couple stressed that while they have decided to go their separate ways after a total of seven years together, they remain "committed and caring friends".

On the other end of the scale, Madonna and hubbie Guy Ritchie feel they are so happy in their four-year marriage that they have renewed their wedding vows.

Film director Guy, 35, bought his 46-year-old wife a 100,000 ring to mark the occasion, which follows a tough year for the singer when she collapsed during a gruelling world tour.

Big chunks of jewellery were also in evidence when pop sensation Justin Timberlake proposed to Hollywood superstar Cameron Diaz over the new year period.

The 23-year-old singer got down on one knee after asking permission from his future in-laws.

Single celebs should beware as Sex and the City Star Kim Cattrall and Angelina Jolie both announced they are on the prowl.

Kim split from her third husband two years ago and said she is ready to have some fun, adding: "Now I'm going to swing."

Meanwhile, Angelina, star of the current blockbuster release Alexander, has said she would not be averse to having a fling with a woman, or even marrying one.

And finally, a Victoria Beckham lookalike from north Wales is planning to wed her business partner - a David Beckham double.
