Jayne Middlemiss and Abi Titmuss are vying to replace Kelly Brook as presenter for the next series of Celebrity Love Island.

ITV bosses of the show, which registered such poor viewing figures that the planned second series has been in doubt, have ditched ditzy Kelly and are hoping one of the two former contestants will prove a more than suitable replacement.

Middlemiss and Titmuss clashed repeatedly on the show, caused mainly by Titmuss goading Middlemiss after having snared the object of her unrequited affection, Lee Sharpe, the former Manchester United and England footballer.

Angry confrontations led to Jayne, who eventually won the show, presumably for having cried every single day she was on the island, calling former nurse Titmuss "a big fat s***".

Irishman Patrick Kielty will again be co-presenting the show but whether he prefers Middlemiss or Titmuss remains to be seen.
