Tom Cruise is addicted to love, according to his 'Collateral' co-star Jamie Foxx.

The Oscar-winning actor claims Tom got engaged to fiancée Katie Holmes so quickly because he loves to be in a relationship.

Jamie says the Hollywood heavyweight told him: "I don't like not being in a relationship."

The 'Ray' star also believes people are quick to judge Cruise's whirlwind romance because his life looks too perfect from the outside.

He is quoted by American website MSNBC as saying: "Tom Cruise is like the Michael Jordan of acting. He looks like he has everything - and he does. He has never had a fall. So people are looking for him to trip and fall."

Earlier this week, Cruise was branded "vulgar" by legendary actress Lauren Bacall for apparently using his romance with Katie to promote his latest movie.

The 81-year-old screen icon slammed the 'War of the Worlds' star for gushing about his new relationship in all his promotional interviews, as well as flaunting his new love at premieres.

She fumed to America's prestigious Time magazine: "His whole behaviour is so shocking. It's inappropriate and vulgar and absolutely unacceptable to use your private life to sell anything commercially. I think it's kind of a sickness."
