KPMG’s 2019 Innovation Technology Hubs has released a list of most promising cities in the world for innovative technology. New York tops the list followed by Beijing and London in second and third place, respectively. Beijing moved ahead of Shanghai, which took fifth place with Taipei. The ranking was based on the views of 740 global technology industry leaders.
The report has also revealed that many respondents think that Silicon Valley will lose its position as the premier technology centre in the future. 58per cent of respondents say that this will happen in the next four years.
Asia dominated the top 10 to include Singapore (7th) and Seoul (8th). The US, on the other hand, rounded out the top 10 with Boston and Austin taking the 9th place.
Most respondents expect the US to produce the most disruptive technology in 2019 (23%), followed by China (17%) and the UK (9%).
