Tom Cruise's son, Connor, is set to star in a remake of the action war drama 'Red Dawn'.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 14-year-old will play Daryl, the youngest in a group of high school students who go to war against foreign invaders.

The original 'Red Dawn' (1984) starred Patrick Swayze and Charlie Sheen.

Connor, who was adopted by Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, made his acting debut in 2008 when he starred alongside Will Smith in 'Seven Pounds'.

Other actors set to star in the remake of 'Red Dawn' include former 'Home and Away' stars Chris Hemsworth and Isabel Lucas.

The film is due for release in September 2010.
