Lewis Hamilton is now the most successful British driver in Formula 1 history after willing the United States Grand Prix for the second time in three years. His victory at the Circuit of the Americas also widened the gap between him and Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg. This is the racer’s 32nd victory throughout his career, making him the most successful Brition in F1 in terms of race wins.
A thrilled Hamilton said: "This is an incredible team, I've an incredible car, and I'm really grateful to be up front. I'm also so proud to be representing my country, and to be top of the driver wins is quite special."
"It's been an incredible run, this whole season has been incredible - an unbelievable job done by the team.
"Of course, you never know how a race is going to go, but I pushed in the first stint and was then quicker in the second.
"I just came here today with the same determination and hunger to get that win.
"I'm grateful to my team and my family for the results and amount of wins I've had which would not have been possible without them."
