Let the Song Hold Us, a critically-acclaimed exhibition opens at FACT Liverpool.
The major exhibition, which explores how music and song shape who we are, features a collection of artworks that reach between generations and across geographic boundaries. These include technology, dance, music and films as well as performances that showcase powerful stories of hope, family and togetherness.
Artists commissioned for the exhibition include Larissa Sansour and Soren Lind - who present a new triptych video installation of an Arabic-language opera. "As If No Misfortune Had Occurred Last Night" tells a story of loss, mourning and inherited trauma. It is presented as a single aria and sung by Palestinian soprano Nour Darwish.
Visitors are also invited to experience the opera live next month at the University of Liverpool's Tung Auditorium, which is part of the Yoko Ono Lennon Centre.
