Let it snow: Wintery showers set to sweep across the UK
Forecasters said that snow could be imminent as wet and wintry showers sweep across the UK.

Forecasters has confirmed that show is imminent as wet and wintry showers are due to sweep across the United Kingdom.
MeteoGroup said that the first snow could fall on Friday 5th, ushering in winter. The Scottish mountains may be covered by several centimeters thick snow by the end of the weekend.
Meanwhile, other areas could experience hail and sleet as chilly winds bring daytime temperatures down to near freezing.
Rachel Vince, senior forecaster at MeteoGroup, said: “Scotland and Northern Ireland will see a mixture of sunshine and showers. These showers do look like becoming hail and sleet showers in places, with snow in the mountains.”
“The Scottish mountains could see several centimetres [of snow] by the end of the weekend.”
While Friday night is expected to be clear and frosty, Saturday night is set to be crisp but chilly. Winds are expected to bring in cloud over England and Wales, with rain in Northern Ireland and Scotland. Temperatures will reach a high of 11C.
