Leicestershire Boost to Road Safety

Traffex Seeing is Believing event in Leicestershire to highlight technology that aims to boost road safety.

Traffex Seeing is Believing event at Bruntingthorpe in Leicestershire is a two-day inside-outside exhibition and conference that highlights various technology that aims to boost road safety. Key demonstrators include Safety Cam, an innovative dual camera system designed specifically to easily spot road users who illegally drive through cones and road workers speeding through construction sites.

 

A new style police camera called Truvelo LASERcam 4 will also be featured. It is a mobile speed enforcement camera that combines class-leading speedmeter capabilities with high quality video to address a series of driving and criminal offences.

 

Other innovations being demonstrated include Valerann road studs, which provide real-time, high-resolution information about everything that takes place on the road. It can be used to prevent accidents, detect risks, optimise intersections, support connected and autonomous vehicles and automate traffic control centres.

 

The event is part of Highways England initiative to encourage more innovation from the industry to reduce incidents involving road users and road workers, support sustainable operation, improve the infrastructure, boost new and emerging technology and improve how data and information is captured and processed.
