Law returns to comic roots

He's glamorous, rich, famous and good-looking - who would have thought Jude Law was a fanboy.

But the star of "Cold Mountain" and "Enemy at the Gates" spent his youth hopping from one comic store to another and still dallies with geekdom.

"I still go to comic shops, [like] Forbidden Planet and look through back issues of the ones I love," he told Empire magazine.

"I was a big fan of 'Johnny Nemo' and 'Strange Days', 'Parallax', you know those? But I haven't gotten into anything recently, not like I did with 'From Hell' and 'Watchmen'."

The interviewer pointed out that "Watchmen" is being made into a film with "Requiem for a Dream" director Darren Aronofsky at the helm.

"Darren Aronofsky? I'm on the phone NOW," shouted Law.

The interviewer suggested that he would make a pretty handy Adrian Veidtaka Ozymandias. The richest and most intelligent man in the world, Ozymandias was blonde, blue-eyed and over six feet tall in the comic books.

"Adrian Veidt, King of Kings!" screamed Law, clearly getting carried away.

If the "AI" star finds Aronofsky's number "Watchmen" is due to start filming next year.

The film follows a group of superheroes in a world where costumed crusaders are banned.
