More and more celebrities have come forward to help the victims of Storm Sandy. The latest is Lady Gaga, who donated $1million to American Red Cross to assist with Sandy relief work in New York.
Storm Sandy struck the east coast of America killing more than 120 people and leaving many without power.
Lady Gaga announced her move on her blog saying: “I pledge one million dollars to New York and The American Red Cross.
“If it wasn't for Lower Eastside, Harlem, the Bronx and Brooklyn, I would not be the woman I am today.”
Most of the victims who remain without power are reportedly facing more challenges, including freezing temperatures and the threat of snowfall.
Lady Gaga is apparently thankful to New York for building her spirit and she said that donating to typhoon victims is her way of giving something back.
She said: “Please accept this gift on behalf of myself, my parents Joe and Cynthia, and my sister Natali; with our deepest gratitude New York for raising us.
“Thank you for helping me build my spirit. I will now help you rebuild yours.”
