Fashion designer L’Wren Scott was found dead by her assistant in her Manhattan apartment on Monday. Since the news broke, it was claimed that the cause of death was suicide by hanging. Now, this claim has been confirmed by medical examiner.
A spokesperson for the New York City Medical Examiner made the confirmation after the autopsy was completed.
According to the Associated Press, the fashion designer, whose fashion label was heavily in debt, asked her assistant to come to her apartment through a text message 90 minutes before she was discovered.
Sir Mick, who had to cancel his band’s upcoming tour in New Zealand and Australia, tweeted a picture of himself enjoying a beach stroll in Perth just before the news of her death broke.
He later released a statement: ‘I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way.
‘We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves.
‘She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me.
‘I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received.
‘I will never forget her.’
