Kylie Minogue wants to win an Oscar.

The sexy singer, who launched her career on Australian soap 'Neighbours', says she is desperate to make it as a big screen actress after her previous film career flopped - and won't be satisfied until she collects an Academy Award.

She told Britain's OK magazine: "I've always wanted to be an actress. It has always been my plan - I want to win an Oscar. But until now it hasn't happened because I've been so busy with music. After 'Neighbours' I went into music and suddenly 18 years have gone by. I've yet to do a part I'm really proud of.

"No one has ever said that I was a terrible actress. They have just said that I have chosen some turkeys. I know that I've got a lot to do to prove myself as an actress."

Meanwhile, Kylie says she has to force herself to take time off because she's a workaholic.

The 37-year-old beauty, who has only been seen with French actor boyfriend Olivier Martinez twice in the last six months, says she has to prised away on holiday because she's so dedicated to her career.

She said: "I need some time off because it's something that I've never been any good at. I have a lot of nervous energy and excitement about trying to achieve the best I can in what I do.

"Ever since I can remember I've been really busy. I don't mind being busy but I think you need time to unwind and appreciate what you've achieved."
