Nicole Kidman has confirmed she is engaged to country star Keith Urban.

The 'Birth' star has been dating the singer for several months but has always refused to confirm they are a couple - despite being photographed with a huge ring on her engagement finger in recent weeks.

However Nicole finally revealed the truth when she was asked if she was taking her boyfriend to a charity event.

She replied: "He's actually my fiancé, I wouldn't be bringing my boyfriend."

The announcement ends months of speculation about whether the pair were set to wed.

Earlier this year it was claimed the couple were planning to tie the knot in Nashville -Urban's hometown.

It had been rumoured 'The Stepford Wives' star - who was married to Tom Cruise for ten years - wanted to marry in her native Australia, but decided against it over fears of media intrusion.

Meanwhile, Kidman has admitted she still has feelings for Cruise - with whom she has two adopted children - despite the fact they divorced in 2000.

She revealed: "He was lovely to me. And I loved him. I still love him."
