55-year-old Linda Louise Culkin, who threatened to cause physical harm to actor Kevin Spacey, had been sentenced to four years in prison.
She was also ordered to pay Spacey $124,000 to compensate him for the bodyguards he had to hire during the two-year stretch when she was stalking him.
She pleaded guilty to charges including posting threatening letters and sending false information regarding explosives.
She said: "I have some mental health issues. I was overzealous. I cop to that. I fully apologise to him. I didn't mean it to be so harsh."
She is expected to complete her four-year sentence in 18 months, considering the time she already spent in prison.
Spacey is an award-winning actor famous for his roles in The Usual Suspects and American Beauty. He has been artistic director of London’s Old Vic Theatre since 2004.
