Keith Richards has confirmed that he will release his first solo album in 22 years.
The Rolling Stones guitarist famed for writing the likes of Start Me Up and Satisfaction said that he has finished the record with the help of award-winning producer Steve Jordan and that he hopes to release it by June next year.
“We had no rush. I think we spent a couple of years. Steve [Jordan] and I are always working somewhere else, but every month or two we'd come down here and do a couple a day and knock off a couple of tracks,” he said.
“Nearly every record I've made is ... 'You've got another five days,' but this one we're taking our time.”
Richards admitted that the band could “potentially tour for most of 2015.”
Aside from working on his new album, which took two years to be completed, Richards also published a children’s book featuring illustrations from his daughter Theodora.
