Local broadband provider KCom's full fibre network expansion will coincide with road resurfacing works at two North Lincolnshire communities. Crowle and Haxey are set to be hooked up earlier than plan to avoid further highway disruption.
The scheme is part of the firm's £100m full fibre roll-out.
Dale Raneberg, KCom chief executive, said: “Our team is based locally and working very closely with North Lincolnshire Council to minimise any disruption caused by street works and to maximise the benefits of delivering our full fibre broadband to as many communities as possible, as quickly as possible.
“We have adapted our rollout schedule across North Lincolnshire so that we can work in partnership with the council and install our fibre network before planned works to resurface roads and pavements commence.
“Many of the North Lincolnshire communities we are connecting have suffered from slower broadband speeds and lack of investment for years, but our full fibre broadband will open up a huge number of opportunities for people at home as well as local businesses.
“We are really encouraged by the level of interest we are seeing in Crowle and Haxey which shows there is a demand for quality broadband.”
