Corrie killer Katy Harris commits suicide and dies in hospital - leaving her mum to take the blame for the murder of Tommy.

The teenager can no longer cope with the guilt of having bludgeoned her dad to death, despite her mum Angela, played by Kathryn Hunt, agreeing to take the rap.

Katy, played by Lucy-Jo Hudson, tries to kill herself by stopping taking her diabetes medicine and ends up in a coma, the Daily Star reports.

While she leaves a note behind admitting that she killed her father, police officers are not convinced and keep innocent Angela behind bars.

The wronged mum is only allowed out for a day when Katy finally dies without emerging from her coma - and then Angela is handcuffed to police officers in a tragic scene.
