Kanye West investigated for alleged battery

Kanye West is being investigated for battery after he allegedly punched a man who had targeted racist comments at his partner Kim Kardashian. 

 

Based from the statement released by the Beverly Hills Police Department, the alleged incident took place on Wilshire Boulevard at about 12.15pm local time on Monday. The police statement added: "The named suspect was identified as Kanye West by the victim and several witnesses.” 

 

Beverly Hills Police Sergeant George DeMarois added that a follow-up investigation is now underway. However, no further information is currently available. 

 

This isn’t the first time West gotten himself into this kind of situation. The rapper was charged for a misdemeanor offence over an altercation with a photographer in Los Angeles. He pleaded not guilty in November. The next hearing date in the case is scheduled on January 23, 2014.
