Kandy Rain became the first act to be voted out of X Factor last night.
The group of ex-strippers was left in the final two with Rachel Adedeji in the Sunday results show.
After each act got two votes from the judges, the loser was decided via a public vote.
Boyzone manager Louis Walsh was absent from the programme after the death of Stephen Gately.
Walsh was also a mentor to Kandy Rain. While he wasn't at the performance he did call them after the show saying "You were amazing and you went out on a high."
Simon Cowell offered similar remarks, stating: "This isn't the end for you girls."
The band told Radio 1's Newsbeat that they had vowed to stay together despite their early X Factor exit.
They said: "We're feeling gutted but we're very positive about our future. It doesn't stop here, you haven't seen the last of us yet."
Also on the show, fellow judge Dannii Minogue was forced to apologise for making a sexual comments about contestant Danyl Johnson after he changed the focus of the song 'And I Am Telling You' to make it about a woman instead of a man.
On the Saturday show the judge said to the bi-sexual contestant: “If you’re to believe everything you read in the papers, then you didn’t need to change the gender references in that song.”
The comment met with 2,500 complaints to which Dannii formally explained: "It was meant to be humorous. An openly bi-sexual guy singing a song that is lyrically a girls' song.
"IÂ’d like to apologise to anyone who was offended by my comments."
On Sunday's show Robbie Williams and last year's winner Alexandra Burke both performed live.
