Scarlett Johansson can't use British swear words - because they make her sound "strange."

The US actress says she feels self-conscious about using specifically British insults because her accent ruins her pronunciation.

Scarlett, who is currently filming a new Woody Allen film in London, said: "I can never say b*****ks because it doesn't come out of my mouth the right way.

"Sometimes you fall into some of the slang, but I don't think I could ever say b*****ks properly, not with an American accent."

Meanwhile, Scarlett has revealed she was desperate to see co-star Ewan McGregor naked on the set of new film 'The Island'.

The sexy star, who bares her breasts in one scene in the sci-fi thriller, admits she wanted to shoot a nude scene with handsome Scottish actor but claims movie bosses scuppered plans because they wanted the movie to be suitable for families.

When quizzed on the subject, she said: "We tried, but it is rated parental guidance. But he was wonderful. It's nice to have someone who you can sing with, and joke with."
