Jim Davidson is arrested again over sex abuse claims
The comedian Jim Davidson faced new questioning from police regarding sexual offence claims

British TV presenter and comedian Jim Davidson has been re-arrested over allegations of sex abuse it has emerged. This follows on from his arrest earlier this year after police investigated the Jimmy Savile case.
Mr. Davidson, who is 59 years old, “vigorously denies” the accusations against him as confirmed by his lawyer.
A spokesperson from Scotland Yard stated that a man was “further arrested” and that this was “on suspicion of sexual offences in connection with further allegations made to Operation Yewtree”.
It is understood the claims relate to events which supposedly took place at least two decades ago. The funny man has not been charged with sexual offences following his re-arrest, and has been released on bail until May this year.
Mr. Davidson, who is well-known for having hosted the TV hit show the Generation Game, was arrested in January as part of Operation Yewtree. This aims to investigate sex claims in particular those made against the late Jimmy Savile.
The investigate does fall into three parts however, with; i) claims relating to Jimmy Savile ii) claims linked to Jimmy Savile and others iii) allegations made against ‘others’. It is believed that Mr. Davidson falls into the third category, ‘others’.
Jimmy Savile, who presented Jim’ll Fix It, died in October 2011.
