Jessie J has parted ways with her old stylist, and as a result, she has ditched her trademark, boyish look. The singer, who was known for her eccentric jump suits, spiky jewelry, and boots, surprised everyone by showing up for her gig at London’s Roundhouse venue in an elegant shimmering Vivienne Westwood dress.
The pop star has traded in her signaturemasculine look for a more feminine couture look. Her old look was not the only thing that hinted at a change of stylist, as Jessie also debuted a longer mane, thanks to wavy hair extensions, instead of her stiff black bob.
Also gone is her trademark heavy black eye shadow and bright lipsticks. In their place are neutral ‘barely there’ makeup, which brought out the singer’s natural beauty.
The whole look is courtesy of her new style team, which replaced her former stylist Karl Willet. The new team is led by up and coming fashion expert Cobbie Yates, the brother of The Voice presenter and radio DJ Reggie Yates.
Cobbie and Jessie met on The Voice, and Jessie J hired the designer shortly after that. According to a friend of the Price Tag singer, Jessie ‘wanted the choice to grow’ and said that her old look made her look like a ‘cartoon character’.
Other sources said that Jessie wanted to ‘reinvent herself’, which explains the major transformation she went through.
