Reports have broken saying former Brookside stunner Jennifer Ellison could join the cast of Hollyoaks.

Channel 4 bosses are said to have offered the actress a six-figure salary to return to head up their late-night version of the show.

Ananova has quoted a Channel 4 source saying: "When we first introduced late night shows they were really popular and we want to do it again. But we need a top name to lead the way. Jennifer would be perfect. She's really popular with the lads and will pull in the viewers."

Ellison, 20, was reportedly planning to hit Hollywood - but her hopes were hit when her first role in "Phantom Of The Opera" was cut to a few seconds.

A friend of the pin-up commented: "She loved her time in Brookside so this new opportunity may be too good to miss."
