A new food trend, which adds the "cute" factor in cooking, is taking YouTube's food category by storm.
YouTube creators make miniature, delicious-looking dishes in a new trend in Japanese culture. These videos show cooking 2cm steaks and 3cm pancakes and other food that is obviously not for the hungry.
YouTube channel Miniature Space has more than 460,000 subscribers. Their most popular video is about creating a mini cake, viewed more than 3.8 million times.
On their page, Miniature Space explain: "We produce edible miniature dishes. All of the... cooking ingredients, small articles are bought in Japan."
Their mini pancake video is also largely popular, viewed more than 3.6 million times.
Bengu Atamer, co-founder of content network BuzzMyVideos, said : "I think in general, cooking/food is a massive interest topic on YouTube and when you add the 'cute' factor to it, then you create a potential trend that speaks to not only a specific interest group but appeals to a broader audience through making content shareable.
"The cute dimension adds up emotion to the content, hence increases its chance of shareability."
