Jamaica Inn-coherent! Viewers complain again over bad sound quality

Viewers of the BBC's drama Jamaica Inn have once again took to Twitter to complain sound problems in second episode.

Some viewers of BBC drama Jamaica Inn were once again disappointed over bad sound quality in the hit show, now in its second episode. Viewers, who stormed to social media to vent their frustration, said that they were left confused after sound problems made it difficult for them to understand what was being said in the Daphne du Maurier drama. 

 

Sioux McGookin wrote: "Anybody else finding sound on Jamaica Inn very quiet? I have resorted to subtitles. Come on BBC, sort it out!"

 

Caroline Donald added: "Jamaica Inn: A nation books a hearing test."

 

The BBC has released a statement where it offered explanation and apology: “There were issues with the sound levels last night and for technical reasons they could not be altered during transmission.

 

"We are adjusting the dialogue levels in episode 2 and 3 to address audience concerns so they can enjoy the rest of the drama and would like to apologies to those viewers who were affected."

 

A BBC spokesperson elaborated that the issues are being 'reviewed': “There were issues with the sound levels last night that we are currently reviewing ahead of tonight’s episode.”
