Dr Conrad Murray, the man who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in respect of Michael Jackson, was released from jail in central Los Angeles after midnight local time. This news has confirmed by the sheriff’s office. The doctor was sentenced to four years in prison but was released two years early due to overcrowding in the state’s prisons. The 60-year-old doctor left the prison undetected by Jackson fans and dozens of journalists who camped outside the Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles.
His medical licenses have been suspended or revoked in three states where he had previously practiced medicine. He now intends to have these reinstated, says reports.
Murray’s lawyer Valerie Wass spoke outside the jail and said: “He wants to take some time and see his family.”
“Believe me, after you’ve been locked up in this place for two years, it’s a shock emotionally and physically,” she added.
