Jack White has cancelled the rest of his Mexican tour after his bandmate, Isaiah Owens, was found dead in his Mexican hotel room.
Periodico Digital, the Mexican news site that reported the death on early Tuesday morning, said that the cause of death is still being investigated.
Meanwhile, Third Man Records, White Stripes rocker Jack White’s label, has issued a statement following the incident. 'It is with great sadness that we tell the world of the passing of the incredible musician Isaiah 'Ikey' Owens.
'He will be missed and loved forever by his family, friends, bandmates and fans.'
'Ikey Owens was an astounding keyboard player in Jack White's backing band. He also played with Mars Volta, Free Moral Agents, and many other projects.'
'Out of respect for Ikey, the remaining shows of the Jack White Tour in Mexico have been cancelled. We will all miss you Ikey. You were and are an incredible artist.'
Owens started his music career in 1999. At the time of his death, he had finished working on Jack White’s second solo album Lazaretto and was on tour to support the record.
