'I've beaten cancer'
Michael Douglas reveals treatment details...
09:57 11 January 2011
Film star Michael Douglas has announced that a cancerous tumour in his throat has gone and that he is beating the disease.
The Oscar-winning actor was diagnosed with throat cancer last year and has previously appeared in public looking frail.
However, Douglas has appeared on the Today show in the US and spoken positively about his condition.
He told the NBC morning show:
"I feel good, relieved. The tumour is gone.
"I think the odds are, with the tumour gone and what I know about this particular type of cancer, that I've got it beat."
The 66-year-old did add that he would still have to be monitored on a monthly basis.
He also revealed that he had been "eating like a pig" since he finished his radiation treatment and that he had been going to the gym.
Douglas lost 32lbs during his treatment but has since gained 12lbs.
He was last seen on the big screen in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps in the autumn.
The star won an Oscar for his role as Gordon Gekko in the original Wall Street film.
