It's Social Media Day! Join 3 Communities That Have All the Fun
In today's world, every day is social media day, but only June 30th was officially declared as such.
17:36 25 June 2019
If you want to make this day a bit more special than just another endless scroll through your never-changing feed, here are 3 social communities that offer a fun and entertaining experience. We’ve chosen these communities because they offer very different ideas of fun, so that no matter what your taste in social friendships is, you’ll find something (and someone) to connect with. Enjoy!
Pitch perfect
The first community we invite you to discover is sometimes a little strange, other times a little disturbing, and always a lot of fun. One Sentence Startup Pitches is a group that focuses on one and only goal: making-up ridiculous ideas for bogus startups and pitching them in a single sentence. Every now and then, an actual entrepreneur will accidentally join the group, thinking this is a real pitching opportunity, which only adds to the fun. Additional group favorites include pitching startup ideas meant specifically for dogs (because everyone needs Tinder) and learning that what seemed like the worst startup idea ever actually exists and is nicely funded.
The hidden fortune
Gaming communities prove to be a huge hit among the right audiences, and social gaming is no different. Those of you who discovered the thrill of winning crazy rewards while playing a mobile casino game know exactly what we’re talking about, and those who didn’t yet should take advantage of this day to find out. We absolutely loved the Facebook community of 88 Fortunes because it offers players a chance to share a big win with fellow fans of the game, and learn first about the huge sales that the slots game often offers.
Oh, mama
Motherhood is magical, but it can sometimes get a bit lonely. New and not-so-new moms looking to connect with others at the same stage in life will find comfort in a variety of online social communities. From funny ones that are super open about the less photogenic part of the experience, to those who share real and even painful struggles, whatever you might need is out there.
Community is such an important part of our being, and it remains unclear whether social media channels make this part of life stronger or weaker. If you have yet to find the social group that speaks (or types) to your heart, use Social Media Day as the best excuse there is to tackle this goal. Good luck!
