IoT Survey

A recent survey predicts the future of the IoT market.

A recent survey participated by respondents from various industries including telecommunications, consumer electronics, industrial automation, hardware and software product development, IT, systems design and business development, among others, has revealed the future of IoT or Internet of Things.

 

The majority of respondents agree that:

 

·       IoT will touch essentially every industry. Aside from smart homes, building and industry automation and wearables, IoT is also expected to play a crucial role in health and beauty products, food and beverage, plumbing and outdoor power equipment, among others.

 

·       IoT will be fully embraced as its benefits will be well understood while risks and challenges will be reduced. Respondents predicted that jumping into the IoT would be a good bet for the vast majority of manufacturers and their customers.

 

·       DIY IoT will lose stream as fewer organisations will depend entirely on their own internal resources in building their IoT solutions. The majority of responders said that they are more likely to combine home-grown and outsourced resources.
