Connexin, which was founded in 2006, has been chosen for the Smart City Deployment of the Year for its Newcastle Smart Road Pilot. It competed against more than 3,500 global companies in the industrial and enterprise IOT sector as well as those involved in the development of smart cities, connected homes, home automation and connected cars.
Connexin winning scheme, which was deployed in partnership with Cisco and Newcastle City Council, involved installing multiple sensors and cameras to make Mosley Street in Newcastle the ‘smartest in the UK.’
Furqan Alamgir, CEO and founder at Connexin, said: "This award demonstrates our leadership in this space and shows we can compete and win on a global level,"
"I'd like to acknowledge and thank the partners we collaborated with on this project, without whom it would not have been possible."
Connexin is in the London Stock Exchange Group’s ELITE network of high-growth companies and has been recently named one of the Top 100 Fastest Growing Technology Companies in the Northern Tech Awards.
