Increase in manufacturing means more shopping
This may be just the right time to bring out the debit cards.

Positive signs for the economy were recently reported, which indicates that spending is up a little. The manufacturing market grew at the best pace in over a year. It looks as though this portends good things for the economy and that shoppers may be out more frequently with their debit cards, or looking for financial products such as vehicle loans.
For those of us who want to get out those debit cards and go for our own little shopping spree, we are able to choose a number of ways to help stimulate the economy.
- Online-shopping with debit cards and credit cards online is growing in popularity, and there are many positives to online shopping. You can have your packages sent directly to a person as a gift, or save yourself some trouble and have it delivered right to your door. Many web sites even offer inexpensive or sometimes free shipping. Online shopping with debit cards or credit cards allows you stay in the comfort of your own home and helps you reduce your petrol costs as well.
- Physical retail-the other way to shop is directly in the store which pumps the money you spend with your cash, debit cards, or credit cards right back into the local economy.
- Smaller vendors-shopping small local businesses is another great way to make sure purchases and funds spent with debit cards or credit cards benefit your hometown economy rather than some national or international chain.
- Apps-some stores make paying with debit cards and credit cards easier than ever. Shoppers can register their credit card and debit card information with a particular app and then they can pay via a code on their phone. If you shop that way, be sure to protect your phone by setting up a lock, and by getting mobile antivirus protection. If your phone is lost or stolen, the pass code may prevent someone from using your funds to go on their own personal shopping spree.
