Improve your AirPort Express
A guide to improving your wireless AirPort Express network to boost your home Internet connection.

The strength of wireless Internet deteriorates with range and the farther you are from the router the more likely that your connection speed will drop. Here are some tips on how you can avoid this:
· Know more about wireless networks – Start by knowing what router you are using. Simply hold down the Option key while clicking on the AirPort icon in macOS to get more information about the wireless network you are connected to. You can also get the same information by using iStumbler to gather data such as the signal strength and the type of Internet your service is providing, among others.
· Switch to an 802.11n or 802.11ac – There are different types of routers around, all using a standard known as 802.11. But most modern routers use the n standard. If needed, consider investing in a new router or ask your ISP about an upgrade.
· Switch to a 5GHz band – Always opt for 5GHz band to take advantage of the fastest possible connection available to you.
· Invest in Apple AirPort Extreme – Simply attach the device to your current router and it will automatically bridge to the network to provide you with a brand new up-to-date wireless connection alongside your current wireless router.
