iMac Pro Released today

In June, Apple confirmed that it would release it's first ever professional iMac Pro by the end of this year.

The company has updated its website to confirm that the fastest and most powerful Mac ever will be available starting on December 14. The basic model costs £4,899 though remember it is a high end workstation primarily for video editing and other high-end tasks.

 

It features a 27-inch retina 5K display, up to 18-core Xeon processors up to 22 Teraflops of graphics computation and up to 4TB of fast PCIe SSD to store your files.

 

In other words, it means that it has astonishing power, amazing graphics and a beautiful screen.

 

John Ternus, Apple’s vice president of Hardware Engineering, said: ‘‘This will be our fastest and most powerful Mac ever, which brings workstation-class computing to iMac for the first time. We re-engineered the whole system and designed an entirely new thermal architecture to pack extraordinary performance into the elegant, quiet iMac enclosure our customers love — iMac Pro is a huge step forward and there’s never been anything like it."
