Johnny Depp may have come top in hundreds of sexiest men polls, but the actor has recently admitted that his sex symbol status is a mystery to him.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star told reporters:

“It's a complete mystery to me. The attention is strange.

“I wake up and I have to look at that head when I brush my teeth and it is often unpleasant."

This isn’t the only time Depp has been self-depricating of late, confessing that he felt like “the ugly one” while filming The Tourist with Angelina Jolie.

He told the Sunday Mirror:

"When we were filming The Tourist, Vanessa [Paradis- his partner] and I would often go out with Brad and Angelina.

“Angie is a stunner, so is Vanessa. And Brad of course. When we all sat together I was the only ugly one.

“I'm not the spick-and-span kind of guy. To be honest, I don't like cutting my hair or trimming my beard.”
